Project: What makes a good father?

Male threespined sticklebacks are the sole care provider for their eggs. The males contribute to the well-being of their offspring in a number of ways; for example, they build a protective nest into which the female spawns, they fan the eggs to keep them aerated and will chase away potential predators. This project is investigating ways in which fathers protect their offspring during the vulnerable egg stage.
